4th of July is finally here! Here are some of the top events, concerts, games, fireworks, parades, live music, historical presentations, water fun, deals, and freebies happening all around the greater Charlotte region over the next few days.

Thursday

3:00pm:  Lowes YMCA in Mooresville –  4th of July celebration with fireworks – The July 3 Summer Celebration is more than just a fireworks show, it is an event that helps the Y impact the Mooresville community. Proceeds from this event help the Y build a healthier community, improve children’s literacy skills in Y Readers, and provide cancer survivors with free wellness classes through LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA.

3:30pm:  U.S. National Whitewater Center July 4th Celebration: Live music and fireworks – The U.S. National Whitewater Center is hosting what will be one of Charlotte’s most popular 4th of July festivals again this year. Taking place Thursday, July 3rd, 2014, and Friday, July 4th, the festival will include live music and fireworks. The festival is free. Parking is $5 per car. There’s also a cornhole tournament. There’s a fee for teams to participate, and prizes will be awarded.

4:00pm:  Harrisburg 4th of July Celebration with fireworks – 191 Sims Parkway, Harrisburg NC featuring Food Crafts Amusements Vendors Games Fireworks Entertainment Parade

5:30: Red, White, and BOOM in Rock Hill – Old Town Amphitheater in Rock Hill featuring a free concert, food, a kids’ zone w/ rides and games for every age, and even an ice cream eating contest. The night it capped off with the areas best fireworks show.

9:00am:  Harrisburg 4th of July parade

9:30am:  Indian Trail 4th of July celebration and parade

10:00am:  4th of July parade in Waxhaw

10:00am: 4th of July Festival at Birkdale Village – Activities take place from 10am-1pm July 4th. Festival includes bike decorating, face painting, balloon creations, bounce houses, a community arts project, bike rodeo, parade, and a water fight.

4:00pm:  Plaza Midwood 4th of July Pig Pickin’ Includes BBQ, beer, live music, and fireworks.

4:30pm:  Waxhaw 4th of July beach party celebration and fireworks – Make your way to our annual beach party  in downtown Waxhaw for delicious food, live music and more. When the sun goes down, the sky lights up! Feel American pride as you watch fireworks set to patriotic music. Go home knowing that you celebrated America’s birthday in style!

5:30 p.m. Parade in Davidson, followed by Simplified concert on the Green

6:00pm:  4th of July parade and festival in Matthews – All are invited to the Town Hall Green at 5:30pm to decorate. Balloons, streamers, and decor will be provided. Parade leaves the Town Hall Green at 6:00pm and proceeds down Trade Street to Stumptown Park

6:30pm:  Red, White & Belmont 4th of July Celebration – 3 day festival in downtown Belmont from Friday July 4th to Sunday July 6th. Includes crafts, merchandise, and food, and fireworks Friday and Sunday night.

7:00pm: 4th of July Celebration at BB&T Ballpark in Charlotte – Skyshow Fireworks Spectacular follows the game between the Charlotte Knights and Norfolk Tides. If you’re not attending the game, you should be able to see the fireworks from any place near the ballpark in Uptown, like Romare Bearden Park. There will also be fireworks after the Thursday, July 3rd, game. Click here for tickets or more details.
