A shocking incident at Eisenhower Exceptional Center has left the community reeling, as a Hillsborough County teacher faces arrest for allegedly punching a nine-year-old student with autism. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has launched an investigation into the troubling incident.

Prechae Rodriguez, a 39-year-old Behavior Support Teacher at the center, was arrested on Monday following accusations of abusing a non-verbal student with autism.

The incident, detailed by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, occurred on February 8th. The child struck Rodriguez, who then punched them, causing a fall. Rodriguez now faces one count of child abuse, as confirmed by HCSO.
