101 million dollar hotel coming to CharlestonA massive new hotel project is coming to Charleston’s historic district. Bennett Hospitality just broke ground on the  $101 million Marion Square hotel after nearly a decade of design and planning.

The entire building will feature over 200,000 square-foot of luxury hotel space spread out over 8 stories. It will include 185 upscale guest rooms, a bi-level, fine-dining restaurant overlooking Charleston’s most famed green space, and a separate full bar and lounge area. There will be a rooftop pool with cabanas and bar will be open to patrons, as well as a full-service spa, and a professional-grade ballroom.

The hotel is being built where Charleston’s old library sat abandoned for decades. The now-famous square is home to numerous Charleston events, including the weekly Charleston Farmer’s Market and the popular Charleston Food and Wine Festival.

The new hotel, restaurant, bar, and other retail space is expected to bring at least 350 long term jobs to the area. You can now browse all job openings around Charleston here.
