Second Shooting in Three Days Rocks Colleton County

Colleton County Fire-Rescue reported that a man sustained critical injuries after being shot in the neck on Monday.

“An adult male was critically injured after he was shot in the neck at 500 Rivers Street Monday afternoon 18-March at 16:43. The Sheriff’s Office and City Police secured the scene. Firefighter-Paramedics treated the man, then transported him emergent in Fire-Rescue Medic 1 to the helipad at Colleton Medical Center to meet with the CARE Flight helicopter. He was given life saving whole blood, IV fluids and medications, then flown to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston,” according to a press release from CCFR.

This incident marks the second shooting at this location within a span of three days.

On Saturday afternoon, another man suffered a gunshot wound to the arm on the Proctor Street side of the same building amid a domestic dispute, as reported by firefighters.

The Colleton County Sheriff’s Office is conducting investigations into both shooting incidents.
