At 6:13 p.m., officers responded to a shooting in the 3000 block of North 50th Street, per a Tampa Police Department news release. The young victim suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, a tragic outcome of a heated road rage incident that escalated to violence.
Swift Police Response:
James Jackson, reportedly driving a white Kia Optima, became entangled in a dispute on the road with individuals inside a white sedan. The situation dramatically escalated when Jackson allegedly fired shots at the occupants of the other vehicle, striking the innocent child who was seated in the rear.
Child Hospitalized, Suspect Apprehended:
