The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) has been monitoring the bear. Officials reported that the bear came down from the tree overnight and moved on. Traps have been set to relocate the bear if needed.

Bears are more active this time of year, as young bears leave their mothers to find their own territory. Spotting a bear in a neighborhood isn’t unusual and typically doesn’t pose a threat. The FWC advises residents to give bears space to move along naturally.
