Beacon Community Bank, originally founded in Charleston, has launched its new two-story headquarters at 2347 Highway 17 North in Mount Pleasant. This marks the bank’s sixth branch in the Charleston tri-county area in six years.

Tommy Baker, the bank’s chairman, expressed pride in establishing the headquarters in his hometown, Mount Pleasant, highlighting the bank’s growth and community integration.

Since its inception in 2018, Beacon Community Bank has expanded rapidly, opening branches across the Lowcountry, including in downtown Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Daniel Island, and North Charleston.

The new headquarters, encompassing 11,000 square feet, features modern design and space for both banking operations and the non-profit Community Action Group for Encouragement (C.A.G.E.).

Additionally, Beacon is developing Grassroots Legacy Park adjacent to its headquarters. This community space will include a pavilion, a sweetgrass prairie, and a commemorative wall honoring local founding families.

Beacon Community Bank, with over 300 shareholders and an 18-member board of local leaders, was the first community bank to form in South Carolina in nearly a decade.
