Charleston’s The Pass deli, in the heart of downtown, is temporarily shut down after an overnight incident where a vehicle drove straight through the front of the store.

The crash, occurring at the corner of Spring and St. Philip streets at around 2:09 am this morning, involved two cars, with one ending up inside the deli at 207 St. Philip Street, Charleston Police reported.

Fortunately, there were no serious injuries from the accident.

The deli’s owner, Anthony Marini, announced plans to remain closed until Wednesday, during which time efforts will be made to initiate delivery and online ordering services to continue food production.
