Lakeland’s Wedgewood Golf & Country Club Clubhouse Devastated by Fire

The Lakeland Fire Department responded to a distress call on Saturday as flames consumed the clubhouse of Wedgewood Golf & Country Club.

 

#LFDMediaRelease | Lakeland Fire Department is working an active structure fire at Wedgewood Golf & Country Club, located at 401 Carpenters Way. Fire crews were dispatched at approximately 5:45 PM.

Upon arrival, the crews found the building, an abandoned clubhouse, heavily involved in smoke and fire. Seven LFD units are on scene, along with Polk County Fire Rescue and Lakeland Police Department.

As the scene is active, no cause is determined, or investigation has been initiated yet. An inspector from the Lakeland Fire Department is on site.

Reports indicated smoke and fire emanating from the abandoned building situated at 401 Carpenters Way. Responders, including LFD units, Polk County Fire Rescue, and Lakeland Police Department, swiftly arrived on scene after receiving the dispatch around 5:45 p.m.

While an inspector from the Lakeland Fire Department was present, they did not initiated an investigation on Saturday.
