Mark your calendars for this weekend’s upcoming “Heroes of Flight” Airshow scheduled to run from April 19 to April 21 at Joint Base Charleston.
This exciting event promises spectacular performances by the renowned U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, captivating aerial displays, and a display of over 40 static aircraft, as announced by the base. The Thunderbirds are scheduled to make a grand entrance on April 17 at 1 p.m., conducting an aerial survey before landing at 1:30 p.m. Additional aircraft arrivals are slated for April 18, spanning from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The base has outlined the event schedule, highlighting an exclusive Friends and Family Day show on April 19 reserved for service members and their loved ones. Notably, this year’s airshow will feature a special flight by Teresa Chrapkiewicz, recognized as the Hometown Hero, with the Thunderbirds set to take to the skies around 3 p.m.
Excitingly, the airshows on April 20 and April 21 are open to the public free of charge, providing an opportunity for aviation enthusiasts and families to enjoy a thrilling spectacle of aerial prowess and aviation marvels.
