A significant multi-vehicle collision on Monday afternoon resulted in nine individuals being transported to local hospitals, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The incident, involving 10 vehicles, occurred around 12:45 p.m. on the eastbound side of Interstate 26, roughly two miles west of the Jedburg Road exit, as reported by Lance Cpl. Nick Pye.
The crash led to the temporary closure of the eastbound lanes of the interstate, causing extensive traffic delays. However, by 4:30 p.m., authorities had managed to clear the scene and reopen all lanes to traffic. SCDOT traffic cameras captured the extent of the congestion, showing several miles of backed-up vehicles earlier in the day.
