Tampa Theatre has just unveiled its new micro theatre, marking the first major addition to the iconic venue in nearly a century. This new space is a significant milestone as Tampa Theatre approaches its centennial celebration.
š”It was once the site of a florist shop next to the box office. Although new, it's inspired by @tampatheatre's original architect and uses original colors, textures, & details that he used in his 1926 plans. The micro theatre, named the John T. Taylor screening room, offers an intimate setting with 43 seats, creating a new experience for movie enthusiasts. The new hallway seamlessly connects this smaller theatre to the main lobby, setting the stage for more diverse events and increased accessibility.
The addition of the micro theatre allows for concurrent events, with concertgoers using the main auditorium while film buffs enjoy screenings in the new room.
After decades of dreaming, four years of planning, and 11 months of construction, the @tampatheatre is welcoming its first audiences into the new John T. Taylor screening room this weekend.
