During Saturday’s severe thunderstorms, the Charleston Fire Department (CFD) was called to address around 29 storm-related incidents.
The CFD reported that these incidents included 12 cases of vehicles becoming submerged. Additionally, 13 individuals were rescued from their vehicles or floodwaters. Local business owners in Charleston County vividly remember the moment the storm hit.
At Hay Tire Pros in West Ashley, powerful winds shattered the windows. Similarly, the Co-Op Frosé & Eatery on Sullivan’s Island is assessing its damage after the establishment flooded for the fourth time in six months, putting them back into a state of recovery. The CFD also noted that the Hay Tire Pros on Savannah Highway suffered window damage due to the storm’s winds.
