Frontier Airlines has just announced new seasonal routes connecting Charleston with the Great Lakes area. Specifically, they will be adding four additional direct flights from Charleston International to Cleveland beginning May 17 at an introductory rate of $19 per seat.
Frontier, which began serving Myrtle Beach in 2018, adds these flights to its existing destinations including Denver, Philadelphia, and Islip, N.Y. The Cleveland flights from Myrtle Beach will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, while the Charleston-Cleveland flights will run on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
The airline’s expansion into Charleston since February 2018 reflects its strategy to enhance service on underserved or overpriced routes. Charleston, lacking nonstop flights to Cleveland since 2019, is a focus of this expansion.
This initiative is part of a broader trend of airlines increasing their offerings, with United Airlines adding flights between Charleston and Houston, Spirit Airlines introducing routes to New York City and Boston, and Breeze Airways launching flights to Los Angeles and Newburgh, N.Y.
