Yesterday the Charleston area witnessed one of the worst winter storms in years, with record rainfall, damaging winds, and power outages across our region. The cleanup and repair efforts continue into Wednesday morning, and will likely last several more days as emergency crews work around the clock to restore power and roadways.
This morning the Mount Pleasant Police department posted that the Ben Sawyer Bridge is still unpassable:

Downed trees throughout our region have also made several roads unpassable.

Dominion Energy reported that about 330 of their customers were affected in the Lowcountry, part of the nearly 50,000 statewide power losses. Crews were working on-site from 6:15 a.m., and by 8 a.m., traffic cameras indicated the road had reopened.
