Alligator Safety Tips:

  1. Maintain a Safe Distance: If you encounter an alligator, keep a safe distance and avoid provoking the animal.
  2. Leash Pets: Keep pets on a leash and away from water bodies, as they may attract alligators.
  3. Swim in Designated Areas: Swim only in designated swimming spots during daylight hours, avoiding areas where alligators are active.
  4. Never Feed Alligators: Feeding alligators is both illegal and dangerous, as it can alter their behavior and pose risks to human safety.

If you have any concerns regarding an alligator please call the agency’s Nuisance Alligator Hotline at 866-FWC-GATOR (866-392-4286).
