Dog Runs For First Time In His Life With 3-D-Printed Legs

Many people say that Derby the dog is disabled, but thanks to groundbreaking new technology, he can now run, jump, and play with all his friends.

Derby was born with severely underdeveloped front legs, and though he was an extremely healthy dog, his front limbs almost caused him to be put down. When Tara Anderson, director at 3D Systems, first met Derby and saw his condition, she immediately fell in love, and decided to do everything she could to give him a second chance;

With the increasingly lower costs of 3-D printers and scanners, more and more possibilities continue to open up for solving almost any engineering or medical issue.
