Given the seriousness of the incident at Astro Skate in Brandon, Hillsborough County deputies are now actively searching for the individuals responsible for organizing the large gathering on Saturday night.

The brawl, captured in very explicit released video footage, erupted just before 9:30 p.m. in the skating rink’s parking lot, involving a crowd of approximately 400-500 people, including 23 teens and 6 adults who were subsequently arrested.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 23 juveniles and 6 adults following a violent disturbance in Brandon.
On May 18, 2024, a crowd of 400-500 individuals created chaos in the parking lot of Astro Skate in Brandon, by fighting, causing damage to nearby businesses, stealing, and disrupting normal business operations.
Despite deputies issuing multiple warnings instructing the crowd to leave as they were trespassing, the crowd refused to comply and continued to cause havoc, leading to their arrest.
“I am outraged by the violent and disruptive behavior that targeted hard-working people and businesses, creating chaos in our community. Let me make this unequivocally clear: this violent and detrimental behavior will never, under any circumstances, be tolerated in Hillsborough County,”𝐬𝐚𝐢𝐝 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐟𝐟 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫. “When responding to a scene as hectic as this, our deputies must account for potential danger from any direction. As you can see in the horrifying footage, these individuals had no regard for safety, and that’s where our deputies stepped in to defuse the situation professionally and swiftly.”
