A Land O’Lakes man embarked on an illegal field trip by stealing a school bus and driving it to Miami, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
Daniel Saez, 32, stole a bus from the Hillsborough County School District on Saturday night. He drove it all the way to Miami before being caught on his way back to Tampa. Troopers stopped him at Jacaranda Boulevard and Executive Drive in Sarasota.

Saez admitted to troopers that he was “high and drunk” during the incident and was attempting to return the bus to Tampa. He has been arrested and charged with grand theft.
