In 2020, the Isle of Palms City Council approved enhancements to the island’s marina, with the project set to conclude this year.

This initiative has introduced a public dock and boardwalk, both of which are now complete. As of January 11, the contract for constructing a waterfront park and greenspace has been finalized.

Spanning a 300 by 25-foot area adjacent to the marina and overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway, the park will feature a 6-foot wide concrete pathway. It’s designed to include a spacious lawn surrounded by vibrant plantings.

Plans are in place to install benches along the waterfront pathway, offering residents scenic views of the waterway and marine activities. Additionally, a circular seat wall is proposed near the public dock to serve as a welcoming entrance to the dock area.

The development will also cater to kayaking enthusiasts with designated storage and launch areas. Accommodations for golf cart and bicycle parking have been incorporated, necessitating cooperation with the marina manager and restaurant operators.

Completion of the entire project is anticipated by May of this year.
