Buckle up, Tampa Bay, because the streets of our city turned into a scene straight out of a Fast & Furious movie in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Just before 1 a.m., deputies rushed to the chaotic scene at Cragmont Drive and Princess Palm Avenue. A sheriff’s office video vividly shows the chaos with engines roaring, tires screeching, and fireworks lighting up the scene.

Four suspects in a 2022 Dodge Challenger from Lee County were promptly arrested for street racing. Upon inspection, deputies discovered Roman candles and video recording equipment inside the vehicle. Additionally, a 2006 Chrysler 300 was seized after its occupants fled the scene on foot.

The four suspects, aged 20 to 22, now face misdemeanor charges for their participation in the street racing incident, according to court records.
