Soma, a 12-year-old soon-to-be eighth-grader at Turner/Bartels K-8 School in New Tampa, has been enjoying the spotlight since his thrilling victory at the 2024 Scripps National Spelling Bee. In a dramatic 1v1 spell-off on May 30, he correctly spelled 29 words in 90 seconds to clinch the title.
