#18. Lakeland
Lakeland ranks 18th, known as a “family-friendly small town.” With natural parks, expansive public golf courses, and a prime location between Orlando and Tampa, Lakeland has a resort-like appeal. The city saw a 3.19% increase in net migration, growing its population to 163,774.
#13. Tampa
Tampa ranks 13th, benefiting from its beach proximity and a vibrant food-and-drink scene. Residents enjoy a mix of beach lifestyle and urban amenities, including professional sports teams, museums, and entertainment options. Tampa experienced a 3.58% net migration increase, boosting its population to 515,872.
#10. Sarasota
Sarasota leads the Tampa Bay area cities, ranking 10th. Known for its vibrant arts scene, growing food-and-drink culture, and beautiful beaches, Sarasota attracts many new residents. The city, with a population of 82,472, saw a 3.96% net migration increase.
Florida cities dominated the top 25 list, with 11 cities included. Notably, four of the top five fastest-growing cities are from the Sunshine State: Tallahassee (5), Daytona Beach (4), Port St. Lucie (3), and Fort Myers (1).
