Charleston’s own Raven Saunders is aiming for Olympic gold in Paris after earning silver in Tokyo.
She secured her spot on Team USA by finishing second at the U.S. Olympic track and field trials Saturday night.

Saunders, a Burke High School alum, set national high school records in shot put in 2014.
She broke the indoor record with a mark of 17.27m and the outdoor record with a mark of 17.29m.
Coached by Herbert Johnson in high school, Saunders was also named the Gatorade Female Track and Field Athlete of the Year.
