Starting this morning at 8:30 a.m., South Carolina Republicans will have a chance to vote early for who they want to be the Presidential candidate on the Republican ticket, currently a choice between former Governor Nikki Haley and former President Donald Trump.
Following President Biden’s Democratic primary win on February 3 in South Carolina, the focus shifts to the Republican frontrunner.
Haley, despite her local ties and previous gubernatorial experience, faces skepticism from Republican voters after losses in both Iowa and New Hampshire. With recent polls indicating Trump’s substantial lead over Haley at 75.8%, the consensus among voters is that Haley faces an uphill battle to close the gap. However, Haley’s known resilience leaves some voters hesitant to dismiss her chances entirely.
