The North Charleston Police Department is currently investigating a shooting that resulted in a fatality on Monday night.
The incident occurred around 9 p.m. in the vicinity of Ginger Lane and Smoketree Court.
Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered a male victim of the shooting. He was promptly transported to a local hospital by EMS, where he was later declared deceased.

The area surrounding the incident was cordoned off with crime scene tape, and eyewitnesses observed approximately eight to ten police vehicles at the location. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the investigation continues.
Details regarding the motive behind the shooting have not been disclosed.
The identity of the deceased has yet to be released by the Charleston County Coroner’s Office.
