22-year-old Christopher Jones jumped out of a plane at 12,000 feet in the air over Australia.

He described what happened next as “the scariest moment of my life.”

The Western Australia Skydiving Academy confirmed to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation that the instructor who saved skydiver’s life was Sheldon McFarlane.

Jones regained consciousness at about 3,000 feet above the ground, after the instructor pulled his rip chord, and was able to safely land. He described it as a “near-death experience.”
