Seacoast Church in Summerville is set to open its warming center on Monday night, offering refuge to those without shelter or sufficient heating.
The center will commence its services on Monday, Dec. 11, with an outdoor dinner served under heaters at 7 p.m. Guests can check in starting at 9 p.m., and the center will close the following morning at 8 a.m.
Attendees will be provided with a cot, linens, and a pillow, along with a warm dinner and access to hot showers in the evening after check-in.
For transportation, CARTA buses will make a special stop on weeknights and weekday mornings at the center, with a drop-off at the back door on Gum Street. Those traveling from Charleston to Summerville should inform their driver and transfer at Trident Hospital to catch the TriCounty Links buses.
TriCounty Links will also include additional stops near various encampments in Summerville and Ladson.
