Moncks Corner-based Viva SC Recycling Co has just teamed up with Chinese company Zhang Baofa to build a massive new $28 million rubber and plastics recycling plant that will create over 200 new jobs for the Charleston area.
The new plant will build industrial and consumer products made from scrap plastics and rubber that have been molded together through a proprietary process.
They will completely overhaul and add on to an existing 177,000-square-foot building in Berkeley County off of Ravenell Drive that previously was home to Reliable Electric.
Viva plans to be operating there by the first quarter of 2017 and will begin hiring later this year.
