The Uptown New Orleans Kitchen Was Just Picked as The ‘Kitchen of The Year’

New Orleans Home of The YearHouse Beautiful has selected a historic uptown New Orleans home for their 2015 Kitchen of The Year. They hired top kitchen designer Ken Folk to put the finishing touches on the already stunning kitchen, as well as reconfiguring the family room, library and dining area.

Fulk completed the renovation with true Louisiana living in mind. New Thomasville cabinetry — filled with drawers and hiding places custom-designed for the Jenkins — is the color of an oyster shell, while the walls are bisque, and the island is the hue of boiled shrimp, a custom color by Sherwin-Williams.

The KitchenAid refrigerator, double ovens and dishwasher are finished in a first-of-its-kind black stainless steel.

The now famous kitchen will be featured on today’s 10th Annual New Orlean’s Kitchen Tour.
