The first is called The Hats Off to Parks festival and it will be held from 5-9 p.m. on Friday, May 1

The event will raise funds to build a fitness zone, walking trails, an updated playground in the Druid Hills Neighborhood Park in West Charlotte and will include live music from Ken Knox and Company, a silent auction, and a barbecue dinner. The organizers are encouraging people wear any type of hat and to make additional donations when buying tickets (go to partnersforparks.org for more info)

The second festival will be the next day on Saturday, May 2 called RomareFest.

It will be a free festival with food, live music, and family entertainment. Starting at noon, there will be magicians, face painting, balloon artists, and musicians for the kids, then the main stage will begin at 3:30 for everyone else.

At 7:30, The Spin Doctors will take the stage and rock into the night. Check out the full schedule and more info at RomareBeardenPark.CharMeck.org.
