Bluefield Community Joining Together To Get Gifts For Over 850 Area Children This Christmas

bluefield christmasThis is turning out to be another hard year for many local Bluefield families, and especially for their kids. Volunteers with the Community Christmas Tree are once again calling the community to come together to help bring joy those in need this Christmas season. are hoping that hundreds of needy children across the region are not forgotten this holiday season.

The organizers of this year’s ‘Little Jimmie Party’ are optimistic that this year will be a record year for giving and volunteers. They are hoping to ensure a joyful and merry Christmas for over 850 needy children throughout the Bluefield region who would otherwise go without this holiday season.

The event is being partially sponsored by the Bluefield Daily Telegraph, and has a total goal of raising $40,000.

The toys for this year’s Little Jimmie Party will be purchased mostly from the Bluefield Kmart by six different shopping teams in a race-like fashion.

Sign-ups will be held on Friday, Dec. 4, from 3 to 6 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Bluefield’s city auditorium.
