Charleston’s Board of Architectural Review has approved plans for South Carolina’s first Four Seasons-branded resort, paving the way for development on the peninsula.
“The long-rumored identity of a luxury resort operator planting its flag in the heart of the downtown Charleston tourist district is no longer speculation,” said building Architects Morris Adjmi in a press release. “A property flying the Four Seasons flag will replace the former Days Inn budget motel at 155 Meeting St., the Florida-based developer of the project announced while also submitting more detailed design plans to the city.”
Strategic Property Partners, based in Florida, will develop the luxury resort at the intersection of Meeting Street and Horlbeck Alley.
The site, formerly occupied by a motel, still bears the faint imprint of a Days Inn logo on one building’s facade.
