Charleston Police have arrested 24-year-old Kyle Tharin Doss, charging him with armed robbery with a hammer following an incident at a downtown gas station.
The robbery, which took place at the Circle K on Meeting Street, saw the suspect allegedly wielding a red and black hammer as a weapon to demand cash from the register.
Responding to the scene just before 3:30 a.m., officers were informed by the store clerk that the assailant had fled with approximately $80. Through meticulous examination of the evidence gathered at the location, law enforcement identified Doss as a suspect. Subsequently, he was positively identified by the clerk from a lineup.
Following his arrest on Thursday, Doss has been released on a $20,000 bond.
