Today uninsured and underinsured individuals will have access to free colorectal cancer screenings.

In recognition of March as Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, Roper St. Francis Healthcare is providing these complimentary screenings to facilitate early detection of cancer symptoms. The American Cancer Society highlights that only 20% of individuals aged 45 to 49 are current with their screenings.

Colorectal cancer ranks as the third most prevalent cancer in the United States among both men and women. The CDC explains that this type of cancer occurs when cells in the colon or rectum grow in an uncontrolled manner. These abnormal growths, known as polyps, have the potential to develop into cancer. Early detection through regular screenings is crucial for identifying these abnormal growths.
