Nonprofit in Bluefield Planing To Renovate Homes For Free This Summer

bluefield nonprofit renovating homesGroup Cares, a expanding non-profit has now started a major campaign to renovate homes in the region for free throughout the Bluefield region.

They are planning on focusing on the homes of the elderly, handicapped, and lower-income residents around Bluefield and Pocahontas this summer.

This year those working for Group Cares will be housed at Graham High School in Bluefield, Va. An estimated 400 volunteers will be present this summer from July 19 to 25. The age of the volunteers ranges from teenagers to adults. This is the third year that Group Cares will be serving the area.

The group holds Workcamps in local areas nationwide. Members of church youth groups volunteer a week of their time to repair homes in a community.
