free-tuition-in-nashville-tnOver 22,000 students now have the potential to receive a free college education, thanks to Gov. Haslam’s new program. The program offers two years of tuition-free community or technical college to Tennessee high school graduates.

The free tuition offer is a major initiative of Gov. Haslam’s “Drive to 55”, a plan that seeks to improve the state’s graduation rates from the current 32 percent to 55 percent by the year 2025 in order to help improve overall job qualifications and attract employers to Tennessee.

Participating students will be paired with a partnering organization that serve their home county and will also be provided with a mentor who will support them during the college application process.

Seniors in high school can apply here for the Tennessee Promise scholarship.
