A local Charleston ice cream brand, Life Raft Treats, has voluntarily recalled its products due to concerns over a possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
The company, famed for its unique Not Fried Chicken ice cream, specifically highlighted the recall of its 64-ounce Not Fried Chicken Bucket, 2.5-ounce bar, and the Life Is Peachy 6-count box. However, as a precautionary measure, they have extended the recall to include all of their product line.
A statement on the Life Raft Treat’s Facebook account said, “We again ask that all existing Life Raft Treats products be discarded. We continue to work closely with DHEC and the necessary parties to identify the source of the contamination before we resume the production of any Life Raft Treat products…”
