louisville downtown skylineLouisville’s Downtown Development Committee just approved the plans for the $300-million Omni Hotel Project in the heart of our city, clearing the way for one of the most ambitious building projects in Louisville’s history.

The new 30-story tower with feature 600 luxury hotel rooms on the lower levels and 225 high-end apartments on the upper levels. The surrounding complex will included a 20,000-square-foot grocery store, along with a bakery, coffee shop and deli — designers are dubbing the complex as “a modern urban lifestyle market”.

The first three levels of the development will be open to the public and will include several retail shops, up to five full service restaurants, and extensive ballroom and meeting spaces.

Developers are also expecting the project to add thousands of permanent jobs to the downtown Louisville economy.
