A recent update from Dorchester County officials is now warning residents to steer clear of the Edisto River due to persistent flooding in the wake of Hurricane Idalia.
As of yesterday morning, the river was teasing heights close to 14.5 feet, placing the river at a notable “moderate flood” level, according to the National Weather Service.

Remember, this uptick comes in the wake of Tropical Storm Idalia. While a flood warning was already in place since Thursday, it remains active.
