Police Asking For Public’s Help In Finding Deadly Charleston Hit and Run Suspect

charleston hit and runThe South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) is actively searching for the driver involved in a Charleston hit and run that occurred in Dorchester County. The collision took place at 8:41 p.m. on Ladson Road at Oakmont Avenue.

Troopers believe the suspect was driving a blue 2019-2023 Ford Ranger, which should have front-end damage consistent with the collision. The victim, identified by the coroner’s office as 37-year-old Christopher Ashley of Ladson, was reportedly struck by two vehicles whose drivers both fled the scene.

On Saturday, May 11, authorities arrested Jeannie Polite, 43, and charged her with hit-and-run involving death. SCHP continues to seek information on the other driver involved in this Charleston hit-and-run incident.
