RoadOne IntermodaLogistics has officially broken ground on a 100-acre distribution and transloading facility near the Port of Charleston.

Located in Summerville, South Carolina, the project will be developed in two phases. The first phase, slated to open in January, will feature a 384,800-square-foot facility with 13 acres dedicated to trailer and container parking. Following that, the second phase is expected to be completed by January 2027, adding an additional 279,720 square feet of space and 10 more acres of parking.

Both locations will be equipped with fencing, gates, lighting, and camera monitoring. Designed for 24-hour operation, these facilities are set to significantly improve cargo turns at the port, enhancing overall efficiency.

“Our new Summerville facility supports cargo volume growth and unparalleled access to the Port of Charleston, enabling retailers and manufacturers to reach consumer markets and production locations faster and more efficiently,” said RoadOne CEO Ken Kellaway in a press release.
