movie tavern syracuseThe revolutionary new Movie Tavern theater is now planning on opening early next year. The new dinner/movie concept will feature a full bar with beer, wine and liquor and an extensive menu for in-theater dining. The theater will have ultra-luxurious leather recliners for seats.

Movie goers will have the ability to order food and drinks before the movie in the lobby bar, or right from their seats while watching the movie.

The new theater’s menu will feature burgers, pizzas, wraps, as well as a variety of pastas, tacos, desserts and breakfast items, according to its website.

The 46,000-square-foot Township 5 location will have 11 screens and 1,100 seats.

The company describes its menu as “chef-driven.”

Movie Tavern currently has 19 locations in nine states, but none yet in New York. The closest sites to Syracuse now are in Ohio and Pennsylvania.

It will be featured prominently in the new Township 5 development – a $58 million mixed-used just outside of Syracuse. It’ll have 500,000 square feet of space when finished including retail, restaurants, medical offices and a 96-unit apartment complex.
