Cosmo Optics is now expanding in a major way into Albany after the new Federal Photonics Institute was announced.
The company makes photonics optic lenses for defense and lasers applications, and are now planning on drastically expanding their operations by acquiring a warehouse in South Albany, unfitting it for their industry, and hiring local applicants.
Cosmo makes parts for the US defense department, government contractors, as well as universities doing research and development. They use machines and people to grind and polish glass to a precision optical level for photonics.
